[Abstract] Presentation: Open Source Ecosystem in Vietnam
When it comes to term about Open Source Ecosystem, initially it means Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) Ecosystem with players engaging in all FOSS activities at an International level.
But now, this term means not only FOSS Ecosystem, but the one of many other open domains, like open access, open education, open data and/or open science.
In each domain of the Open Source there are participating players from public sector, educational institutions, enterprises and communities of developers / system integrators and more wider, creators at a world level.
Among Open Source domains mentioned above, FOSS most early appreared in Vietnam, so now its ecosystem seems to be have full stakeholders, though its development is still fairly slow.
On the other hand, other domains of Open Source come to Vietnam only in recent years, so their ecosystems are in very first stage of taking shape.
